Pair of Mid 20th Century Italian Tole Lamps in Red.

Impressive pair of midcentury Italian tole metal lamps with a rich intensity of colour and elaborately painted. The square base has bronze painted lion feet.  The lamp body and base is painted in a sophisticated red cadmium with yellow ochre detailed celebratory images of torches, wings, ribbons and leaves. The shades are original and beautifully painted to match the lamp body bringing a continuity to the “whole”.

Base 7.75 inches square

Each shade : bottom diameter 15 inches, height 15.25 inches

Note: Given the age of the lamps they are in very good condition.  One shade has a small narrow vertical band of crazing which is not noticeable if lamp is positioned against a wall.
