Luxurious John Aynsley & Sons English bone china set in the “Seville Blue” pattern, #6874.  Large 48 piece set includes: 16 Dinner Plates , 16 Luncheon Plates , 16 Teacups & 16 Saucers, 1 Covered Sugar, 1 Creamer. A complimentary Gravy Boat & Saucer which are a similar rare Aynsley pattern of cobalt blue with gold encrusted motifs, Marlborough Pattern#8357 . All in excellent condition, the rare “Seville Blue” pattern is stunning with the large rims of gold encrusted “winged dragon pairs”, scrolls and dot patterns set against a rich cobalt blue ground.

Aynsley, established in 1775, is one of England’s finest bone china manufacturers. Their patterns combine elegant design with superior craftsmanship, making them highly collectible and perfect for both special occasions and daily use. John Aynsley gave his name to the company when he founded it in 1775 in Staffordshire. The company’s name quickly became synonymous with fine English bone china tableware, giftware and commemorative items. His son introduced in the manufacturing process calcified bone ash to the clay, creating “bone china” that was lighter, thinner and stronger. Over the last 200 plus years Aynsley grew their company into a well-respected company commissioned by royalty and exported to over 70 countries. Queen Victoria granted Aynsley a warrant as supplier to the Royal family because she liked their bone china dinnerware so much. This explains the crown in Aynsley’s light green stamped hallmark.
