FurnitureNote: Three pedestals are pictured in the first photo – all other photos only show 2 pedestals.
This monumental and extraordinarily handsome three-section antique William IV period triple-pedestal dining table represents a masterful achievement in luxury early nineteenth-century British furniture design. Generously proportioned to command a grand banqueting hall or an executive boardroom, the table splits into three substantial, versatile sections consisting of two fifty-three-inch end capitals and an approximate forty-eight-inch center section, forming an expansive total length of one hundred and fifty-four inches. Included are 2 extra 20 inch leaves that can be added to make this table an astonishing 194 inches length total. This grand scale provides a remarkably spacious dining platform that comfortably accommodates fourteen to sixteen guests for large formal gatherings. The field of the tabletop is veneered in premium, heavily figured rosewood showcasing deep, dark flame graining that stands out beautifully against contrasting blonde satinwood crossbanded stringing. Exquisite, custom hexagonal bone insets punctuate the perimeter borders, introducing a unique architectural geometry that flawlessly bridges classic European design with striking artistic flair.
The structural execution of this massive table is grounded upon three heavily turned, bold gun-barrel pedestal supports, a hallmark element that transitions seamlessly from the late classical era into the distinctive grandeur of the William IV period. Each pedestal branches out into an elegant array of outswept sabre legs. Every leg terminates in a heavy, classic brass lion’s paw foot resting on robust, integrated casters that allow for smooth movement and adjustment inside a grand space. Underneath the table top, a traditional, precision-machined heavy metal clip system allows the user to effortlessly align and securely lock the distinct sections together, ensuring an unyielding and completely level surface when fully assembled.
Dating precisely between 1830 and 1837, this rare specimen embodies the highly collectible William IV era, a brief seven-year historical window that served as a stylistic bridge between the refined classical lines of the Georgian Regency and the robust opulence of the early Victorian period. Because of this short timeframe, furniture from this reign is exceptionally scarce on the modern market. Preserved in remarkable condition with a reflective, deep historic luster across its broad grain pattern, this monumental extension table provides a secure investment and an elite entertaining platform capable of anchoring the most sophisticated residential or commercial interior.
2 extra 20″ leaves included – for a total length of 194 inches.
