Rosenthal Studio – Victor Vasarley Designed “Suomi” Covered Box / Tureen

Designed by Victor Vasarely for Rosenthal, this covered tureen / box has an optical designed pattern on the front and back in orange with a blue background.  A chrome handle swivels out of the way to remove the top.  This is a limited edition and is marked   127 of 500.  The design dates from the 1970’s and this was purchased from the Roenthal factory in 1981.

Marked on bottom: Rosenthal, studio-linie, Germany, 17.

Measures: 6.5 inches in height without handle.  8 1/2 high with handle x 6.5 inches square (width and depth).

Excellent condition.No chips, cracks or repairs. (Minimal surface wear from use and age.)
