A set of 4 english chinoiserie plates, it dates 19th century. Each plate is beautifully painted with a western romanticized depiction of Chinese art influences, in the centre there is a delightful animated couple enjoying an everyday stroll on a bridge, followed by accents of blossoming flowers and leaf in a border design circulating around the centre. The set is a lovely colour composition of red, blue, green, yellow and orange.
A wonderful set of 4 chinoiserie plates that would go perfect for any home decor, or those who adore romanticizing periods of the past.
Marked: On the bottom in blue, China Patten.
Condition: No chips (minimal scratches and fades in the paint – see images)
