Spectacular Mappin & Webb Sterling Silver 24 inch Oblong 3 Bowl Centrepiece with Figural ‘Merchildren’ Supports, London 1915

A spectacular sterling silver oblong centerpiece having a centre bowl and 2 smaller side bowls being supported by figural ‘Merchildren’ (mermaids).  The piece is made by Mappin & Webb who were commissioned by many monarchies – both British and European.   There are 4 shell shaped feet and the centre bowl is supported on a pedestal with 4 lion face masks.

The bowls are threaded and unscrew from the base.  English hallmarked sterling for London with a date letter of 1915.  Also marked Mappin & Webb – 73938 on bottom.

Museum quality.
