A lovely Amercian sterling silver serving spoon with a pierced bowl, made by Whiting and retailed through Ryrie Brothers (Birks) in the “Imperial Queen” pattern. The spoon was for sifting sugar over fruit.
The handle of the spoon is monogrammed with the initial “D”. On the underside of the spoon is the maker’s mark and is stamped with Lion & W (for Whiting) “Sterling. Pat. 1893. – & stamped Ryrie Brothers”.
The spoon is 5 1/2 inches long and is 2 1/4 inches wide across the bowl.
It is in very good condition.
