Tall 30 inch Bronze Sculpture of ‘Venus de Medici’ – by Elkington & Co. Founders – Mid 19th century

A beautifully posed “Venus de Medici” stands beside a tree trunk that has two winged cherubs riding a dolphin.

The base is stamped “Elkington & Co.  Founders.

The Venus d Medici is a life size marble sculpture depicting the Greek goddess of love Aphrodite.  Made in the 1st century BC and is on display at the Ufizzi Gallery in Florence, Italy.

Measures:  30 1/2 inches tall x 10 1/2 inch diameter round base.
