A stylish French Art Deco mantel clock dating to circa 1930, housed in a streamlined rectangular grey marble case with softly rounded corners.
The clock features a regilded metal bezel and surround framing a gilt dial with bold, highly stylized black Roman numerals. A small subsidiary alarm dial is positioned at six o’clock, and the dial is marked “Made in France.”
The substantial marble case rests upon a contrasting black stone plinth with raised feet, giving the clock a strong architectural appearance characteristic of French Art Deco design.
The gilt metalwork has been professionally regilded, giving the clock a fresh, rich appearance while retaining its original period character.
