    Pair Large Italian Alabaster and Marble Busts by A. Giannelli – Apollo & Diana

    Here are two lovely white moulded alabaster busts of the classical figures, Apollo and Diana, designed and signed by A. Giannelli.
    Each bust has a grey marble base and beautiful detail in the hair and faces.

    Apollo measures 22 inches tall X 15 inches wide;
    Diana is 21 inches tall X 12 inches wide.

    Both are in excellent condition.

    19th C. Meissen Porcelain Figure of Woman Playing Flute with Lamb / Lace Dress

    A pretty porcelain figure of a Woman in period dress and hat holding and playing a flute.  She holds a basket of pears in her apron and a lamb lays at her feet.   The dress is very fine with porcelain simulating lace on her dress front and arm cuffs – a very difficult process to make – but one that the artists at the Meissen factory had mastered.

    Her skirt is beautifully painted with floral bouquets, her bodice in burgundy and her shoes in blue.

    Measures:  6 1/4 inches high

    Meissen crossed swords mark on bottom and some incised numbers

    Excellent condition all around.  The end of her flute looks professionally repaired.

    A Meissen porcelain figure group of a boy (gatherer) and goat – dating late 19th century after a model by Johann Carl Schönheit.  He is standing in a yellow jacket holding a grape vine to the back of the goat.  Stands on an oval base with gilt decoration.

    Meissen crossed swords mark in blue and incised numbers

    Measures:  6 inches high
    base measures 4 1/2 inches long x 3 inches deep.

    Large “Beefeater” Toby Jug by Royal Doulton, England – D6206, Produced 1947-1953

    This English Royal Doulton porcelain large Toby Jug is entitled “Beefeater” and was designed by Harry Fenton. It is numbered D6206, has a copyright date of 1946 and was discontinued in 1953.  Yeomen of the Guard nicknamed “Beefeaters” guarded the Tower of London and got the nickname from King George VI for the amount of beef they ate. This Toby Jug bears the cypher E.R. (Elizabeth Regina) on the base of the handle for Queen Elizabeth II, after the death on King George VI.

    This English Royal Doulton porcelain large Toby Jug is entitled “Robin Hood” and was designed by Max Henk. It is numbered D6527, has a copyright date of 1959 and was discontinued in 1992.  Fashioned after Robin Hood a fictional character who stole from the rich to give to the poor. He wears a feathered cap and the handle is a quiver and bow.

It is numbered D6386, has a copyright date of 1951 and was discontinued in 1998. Long John Silver was a scoundrel pirate from the novel Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson and is part of the series, Characters in Literature. The handle is his parrot companion.

    Large “Dick Whittington” Toby Jug by Royal Doulton, England – D6375, Produced 1953-1960

    This English Royal Doulton porcelain large Toby Jug is entitled “Dick Whittington” and was designed by Geoff Blower. It is numbered D6375, has a copyright date of 1952 and was discontinued in 1960.  Fashioned after a poor orphan boy from a play from 1605. He asked his employer to sell his cat; the cat fetched a huge sum and made him a wealthy man. It features a a stick and polka dot handkerchief handle and he wears a dark green hat and robes.

    Large “Monty” Toby Jug by Royal Doulton, England – D6202, Produced 1946-1954

    This English Royal Doulton large porcelain Toby Jug is entitled “Monty” and was designed by Harry Fenton. It is numbered D6202, issued in 1946 and was discontinued in 1954.  Modelled after  Bernard Law Montgomery (1887-1976), who was a senior British Army Officer, fighting in many wars notably accepting the German surrender at Luneburg Heath in 1945 during the Second World War. The handle names his battles.

    Royal Worcester Porcelain Ltd Edition Bird Figurine, “Blue Tit and Pussy Willow (Hen)” with Certificate.

    Here is a wonderful Royal Worcester English porcelain figurine from a limited edition of 500 copies, entitled “Blue Tit and Pussy Willow (Hen)”.

    This model is number 362. It is mounted on a detachable wooden stand and has an accompanying plaque with the artist’s name (Dorothy Doughty) and signed by the director of the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company Limited.

    The figurine is brightly colored and in excellent condition.

    It measures 8 1/4 inches tall (with the stand) and the stand is 5 inches in diameter. A lovely collector’s piece!
