    Bronze Statue of Cupid Holding a Bow – Polish, signed: Paul L. Kowalczewski (b.1865-d.1910)

    Bronze Statue of Cupid Holding a Bow – Polish – Signed P. L. Kowalczewski (b.1865-d.1910)

    This is a romantic bronze figure depicting Cupid, the ancient Roman God of Love, holding a bow from which an arrow has just been let fly. It is signed by the Polish artist Paul. L. Kowalczewski and is mounted on a green marble plinth. This Cupid has a lovely face, flowing hair and is scantily clad in a loin cloth with one out stretched hand that holds a bow.

    Bronze Measures: 7 inches high and with the marble the total height is 11 inches.

    Condition: Lovely patination. His right arm has a fine hairline crack that is visible but the arm remains firmly attached, the marble has a few blemishes but nothing too glaring that it takes away from this beautiful antique art piece.

    Staffordshire Pottery Small Planter with Figural Grouping of a Cat and Two Dogs

    A wonderful Staffordshire pottery small planter with a figural grouping showing two dogs cornering a cat atop a wooden stump.

    The planter has a white background with blue trim on the base, blue decoration on the planter and blue collars on the dogs. The cat is white and perched atop a stump showing brown and green foliage with leaves in two shades of green behind the dogs and the stump.

    The planter with figures is 7 3/4 inches tall from the arched back of the cat to the base. It is 5 1/2 inches wide across the base. The planter by itself is 4 1/2 inches long x 3 inches wide.

    The planter and figures are in excellent condition.

    Rosenthal Germany Porcelain Figurine of a Ballerina, Signed by the Artist, “L.F. Gronau”

    A lovely Rosenthal Germany porcelain figurine of a ballerina, signed on the base by the artist, L.F.Gronau.

    The figurine has a white base and is colourfully decorated with orange on her skirt and slippers and accented with purple flowers on her dress, wrist and headdress.

    On the underside is the Rosenthal maker’s mark and it reads “Rosenthal Germany”. There is an impressed number “5062” and, in green ink, there are some German words. Please see the last photo for details.

    The figurine is 12 inches tall and is in excellent condition.

    A wonderful porcelain figurine of a Scottie dog, made by DJ Copenhagen Denmark.

    The figurine is stamped on the underside with the maker’s mark and reads “DJ Copenhagen Denmark 1066” and shows “EK” for the decorator’s initials.

    The figurine is 6 3/4 inches long from the nose to the tip of its tail and stands 5 1/4 inches tall.

    It is in excellent condition.

    Meissen Germany Porcelain Figurine of Boy with Decorated Shell-Shaped Dish of Courtiers

    A wonderful Meissen Germany porcelain figurine of a young boy kneeling beside and holding the rim of a shell-shaped dish, decorated on the exterior with flowers and bugs and showing a courtier scene on the interior.  The dish has gold accents and a gold painted rim.

    The young boy has finely painted features, a pink cloth to cover the lower part of his body and is kneeling on a white plinth decorated with pink shells and swirl designs.

    The underside of the figurine shows the Meissen crossed swords mark.

    The figurine measures 5 1/8 inches long x 2 inches wide at the base and stands 4 inches tall.

    There is some paint loss on the gold rim of the dish but, overall, the figurine is in very good condition.

    A mid 19th Century sweet Staffordshire pottery small spill vase on the back of the figural grouping showing a red and white cow and calf in the midst of colourful flowers and other green foliage.

    The floral grouping is 5 inches across and, with the vase, is 5 3/8 inches tall. The figurine is 3 1/2 inches long x 2 3/4 inches wide across the base.

    It is in very good condition but does show some age crazing.

    Small Staffordshire Pottery Figurine of a Spotted Dog

    A wonderful Staffordshire pottery figurine of a spotted dog (Dalmation?) sitting on a plinth.

    The dog is white with black spots with a black nose, eyebrows, eyes, and whiskers and orangey brown around its nose. It has a red mouth.  There is a black and white chain attached to its collar and wrapped around its back.

    The plinth is blue with a gold band around the middle.

    The dog figurine is 3 1/4 inches long across the base x 2 1/4 inches wide and stands 5 1/4 inches tall.

    It is in very good condition.

    The figurines are wearing colourful costumes and each has a hat on their head.

    The figurine is 5 3/8 inches long x 2 3/8 inches wide on the base. It stands 9 inches tall.

    There is a firing hole at the back of the figurine and some paint loss to the age in various areas. However, overall, the figurine is in good condition for its age.

    A wonderful 19th century Staffordshire pottery figurine showing a woman holding a lute while the man beside her is holding a harp.

    Each figure is wearing a colourful costume with a blue top and the lady has a red and green skirt while the man has white pants. The lute and harp are both outlined in red.

    The figurine is 4 1/4 inches long x 2 1/2 inches wide at the base. It stands 7 1/2 inches tall.

    There is some age-related paint loss on the figures’ hair and near the base. However, overall, the piece is in good condition.

    Very Large Staffordshire Pottery Figurine of Hunter Sitting Astride His Horse

    A wonderful very large Staffordshire pottery figurine of a man sitting astride his horse with a dead sheep across the back of the horse.

    The figurine is predominantly white with some black touches (the man’s hair, facial features, and shoes, the muzzle and hooves of the horse, the eyes and nose of the sheep). There are some gold accents on the hat plume and hem of the man’s skirt, spots on the horse’s body and on the horse’s bridle, and a gold line just above the base of the figurine.

    The figurine is 9 1/2 inches long x 3 3/4 inches wide. It stands 15 inches tall from the tip of the hat plume to the base.

    There is a firing hole on the back of the figurine and some paint loss due to age, especially on the man’s hair.

    However, overall, the figurine is in very good condition.

    A wonderful Bing & Grondahl Denmark porcelain figurine of a bird. The bird has plumage in black, grey, brown and white with a crest on the back of its head.

    The underside shows the B&G maker’s mark and reads “Denmark. Made in Denmark. B&G. 1980 R. Product of Denmark”.

    The bird stands 6 inches tall and is 3 1/2 inches long on the base.

    The figurine shows the young girl with clasped hands in front of her and slightly bowing. She is wearing traditional robes and has applied pink flowers in her hair.

    A sweet figural grouping called “Babes in the Wood” by Royal Worcester bone china. The piece consists of a young girl with her arm around the shoulders of a younger girl, perhaps her sister, who looks fearful, with her finger in her mouth.

    On the underside of the figurine is the Royal Worcester maker’s mark and it reads “Babes in the Wood. Bone China. Royal Worcester. Made in England. 3302”.

    The figural grouping is 5 3/4 inches tall and is 3 inches wide across the base.

    Here is a sweet miniature Royal Doulton Toby Jug called “Old Charley”. It is D 6046, made between 1939 and 1983.

    The back of the jug reads “Old Charley”.

    The underside of the jug shows the Royal Doulton maker’s mark and is stamped “Made in England. Royal Doulton England. Old Charley. D 6046. Doulton & Co. Limited”.

    The jug is 3 inches wide from the tip of the spout to the handle and is 2 1/4 inches tall.

    It is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs.
