Irish Belleek Classic Harp Shamrock Teapot

A classic Irish Belleek Teapot revival, designed in the 1880s by Frederick Slater to reflect the essence of Ireland, it dates 1965-1981. The design consists of three elements, shells to portray the island of Ireland, harps to illustrate its people and culture, and shamrocks for the patron of Ireland, Saint Patrick.

A delightful Irish teapot, it would make a unique gift, or heirloom for the home.

A stunning rouge flambé glaze vase with country village landscape scene, created by Royal Doulton, dates circa 1930. Inspired by Orientalism, it has the lustrous  flambé glaze in rouge, and a unique silhouette scene depicting a landscape of  trees, hills, a river and a small village circulating around the vase. The flambé glaze by Dolton debuted at the St. Louis Exhibition in 1904, and was highly popular among collectors of art pottery.

A lovely 19th century porcelain urn, made by manufacture nationale de Sèvres, from Sèvres, Hauts-de-Seine, France. It has a unique design consisting of a square footed pedestal, a bulbous body, narrow neck and lid. The exterior is beautifully hand-painted in colours of red, pink, yellow, green and violet with gold on white. It is elegantly decorated with a balanced composition of  garland, wild flowers, vine, leaf and ribbon.

Marked: Served Crossed ‘L’s’- Double Louis. Hard-paste porcelain.

A delightful small Aynsley bowl in a Butterfly Lustre emulating Wedgwood’s fairyland lustre, it dates circa 1910, England. It is beautifully hand-painted on the exterior and interior with softs colours of yellow, green, blue,violet and brown with accents of gold.  The exterior is painted a bright yellow with a lovely decorative gold pattern of floral,leaf and scrolls.  The interior of the bowl features two butterflies with a pray mantis below the rim, while the centre at the bottom is decorated with a starburst design in gold on deep blue on white porcelain.

A joyful little yellow classic by Aynsley that is perfect to brighten up a room for everyday.

Marked: On the bottom in green, crowned with Aynsley, England.

Measures: 4 inches in diameter x 2 1/2 inches in height.

Large hand painted Cup  – a Memorial For John Greaves- Born FEB 25,1854

A beautiful, yet sentimental  piece dedicated to a memorial, for John Greaves, born February 25, 1985. This piece is decorated with lovely hand painted accents of gold with text, with scenes two baskets. It has a delightful scene of a  fruit basket with grapes, apples and peaches, while the other basket scene holds a sweet arrangement of pink and white roses.  The centre is decorated with garland and inscribed with gold text,’John Greaves. Born Feb 25, 1854. The decorative accents of gold gives the piece a unique balance upon the top and bottom rims and handle.

The porcelain is not marked by any manufacturer – the quality and porcelain remind me of 19th Century Worcester.

This a splendid large cup, perfect for a those who love objects with a nostalgic tale.

Condition: No chips, cracks, or repairs. (The hand painted scenes has minimal scratches from indications of being gently used)

A lovely hand painted Locke & Co. Worcester shaker with a painted colourful Pheasant bird on the front.  The painting was done by Walter Stinton from the famous Stinton family of Worcester painters.

The shaker has a silver-plated top & collar.

Locke & Co. Worcester marks on bottom date circa 1895-1900.  Signed W. Stinton to the lower right of the Pheasant.

Walter Stinton was born in the late 1860s and was John seniors fourth son. He started at the Grainger factory as a landscape painter where he produced many scenes of New Zealand, copied from other pictures. He later moved to the short lived Locke factory where he became known as a fine painter of gamebirds.

Measures 5 1/2 inches high.
