19th Century French Bronze Sculpture of a Classical Lady, signed “Raingo Frères” – Paris.

A patinated 19th century French bronze sculpture of a lady in classical dress, signed “Raingo Frères, Paris” on one corner of the base.  The woman stands with one hand touching her dress from her shoulder and the other hand lifts her dress near her chest.  She stands on a square base.  Lovely detail in the face, dress and hair.

The bronze is 16 1/2 inches tall.

Zacharie Joseph Raingo had four sons, Adolphe, Charles, Denis and Dorsant and together they formed Raingo Frères in 1823. The firm initially specialised in producing Empire and Restauration style clocks, manufacturing mantel clocks, table clocks, and bronzes.   They were active until about 1870.
