Art Nouveau Russian .84 Silver Repoussé Cigarette Case with “Tree Swing” Scene, Gold Wash Interior & Garnet Cabochon Closure, Circa 1908-1917

A beautiful antique Russian silver cigarette case highlighted by a striking, high-relief Art Nouveau repoussé cover. The detailed exterior scene depicts an elegant forest landscape featuring two figures on a tree swing. The case retains a rich, yellow gold-wash interior designed historically to protect tobacco from metal tarnish, and it remains fully functional with a push-button release clasp set with a cabochon garnet stone. The overall silver body, hinge mechanism, and relief artwork are in good antique condition, showing a natural aged patina and minor surface wear consistent with historical use.
The interior of the case features several stamped hallmarks, including an Imperial 84 Kokoshnik assay mark showing a right-facing profile, a block stamp reading “К.ФАБЕРЖЕ” beneath a double-headed Imperial Eagle, and a separate workmaster rectangular punch with the Cyrillic initials “НХ”. While the cigarette case itself is an authentic antique Russian silver piece from the late Imperial or early Soviet era, the Fabergé and workshop stamps have no official provenance or certificate of authenticity to verify that this is an official House of Fabergé original.
The case is being sold strictly as-is, as a beautiful and finely crafted piece of period Russian silver craftsmanship.
