English Art Deco Aynsley “Hatfield” Cobalt Blue Dinner Service, Pattern # 7024, Circa 1930
China PatternsThe Aynsley pattern “Hatfield Cobalt Blue” # 7024 was designed around 1930, placing it squarely in the coveted Art Deco period. The design combines a classic scalloped shape with the elegant, geometric influence of the Art Deco movement. The bold, wide cobalt blue border and elaborate gold trim with the delicate, central floral spray was highly fashionable during this luxurious era. As with all Aynsley china, the “Hatfield Cobalt Blue” pattern was produced from high-quality bone china, which is known for its translucent, delicate appearance and exceptional durability.
Founded in England in 1775, Aynsley is one of the country’s oldest fine bone china manufacturers. For over two centuries, it was known for its superior materials, craftsmanship, and intricate hand-painted designs. Aynsley received a Warrant of Appointment from Queen Victoria, in 1891, an honour that cemented its reputation for high quality. The brand was subsequently chosen by later members of the Royal Family for wedding presents.
