English Sterling Silver Boxed 3 Piece Condiment Set – Open Salt w/ Blue Liner, Pepper Shaker & Mustard Pot w/ Spoon – Birmingham 1921
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vThis is an elegant boxed sterling silver condiment set by the makers Duncan & Scobbie, consisting of 1 open salt with a cobalt blue glass liner, 1 pepper shaker and 1 covered mustard pot with cobalt blue glass liner & original spoon spoon. The shape is the very beginning of art deco with a simple linear design. The set is fitted in a custom blue box that has and off white liner in lid and black velvet on the base, the clasp and hinges are all in great working order.
Box Measures: 8 3/16th inches wide x 4 1/2 inches deep x 2 1/2 inches high.
Salt Measures: 1 5/8 inches high x 2 inches deep x 2 inches wide.
Pepper Measures: 3 3/8 inches high x 1 3/8 inches wide.
Mustard Measures: 2 3/4 inches high x 2 7/8 inches wide (including handle).
Spoon Measures: 2 1/2 inches long.
Marked: D & S for the makers Duncan and Scobbe, Anchor for Birmingham, Left facing Lion passant for .925 Sterling and the date letter “W” for 1921.
Excellent Condition: No cracks or repairs, I do not think the original owners ever used this set. One minuscule ding to the lid of the mustard pot (pictured). The base of the box shows wear (pictured).
