v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vA lovely woven silk panel behind glass in a wooden frame, entitled “Dick Turpin’s Last Ride on His Bonnie Black Bess”. It shows a man on his horse riding by a man in front of a building.
Below the picture, the weaving reads “Woven in silk by Thomas Stevens, Inventor and Manufacturer, Coventry and London (Registered)”.
On the back of the picture is a paper advertisement for Stevengraph Pure Silk Woven Pictures as well as further advertising about the artist. Please see the last photo for further details.
The picture and frame is 8 7/8 inches long x 6 inches tall. Note that the backing is a little loose in the frame but, overall, the item is in very good condition.
