Art Glass / Crystal, Gift IdeasWonderfully detailed French Art Deco, an imposing glass car mascot entitled ‘Tête D’Aigle’ or “Eagle’s Head” is finely moulded and hand finished frosted and polished glass. Signed “Lalique France” on the base, these “glass art sculptures” were originally designed as car hood ornaments, in the 1920s, by the famous glass maker René Lalique whose company still creates fine glassware today.
Dates 2nd half 20th century.
These wonderful Lalique car mascots originally adorned many fabulous prestigious motor cars, in the 1930s, like the Bentley and Rolls Royce. The Mascots were made as car hood ornaments that would light up in the night and glow.
