Italian Bronze and Ivory Figure by Joseph D’Aste (1881-1945) of a Young Boy with Flowers, E. Etling (Paris Foundry)
Art, GeneralA wonderful bronze figurine of a young boy wearing a hat and holding a large bouquet of flowers by the Italian sculptor, Joseph D’Aste (1881-1945). The bronze has an ivory face and hands.
On the back of the base, the bronze is signed by the artist and is also signed by E. Etling who was the foundry for the figure and who created the subtle patina of green, brown and gold on the figure. Marked E. Etling, Paris.
The bronze measures 9 1/4 inches tall and is 4 inches wide across the base. There are impressed numbers “1740” on the underside of the base.
It is in excellent condition.
