This English Royal Doulton porcelain large Toby Jug is entitled “Dick Whittington” and was designed by Geoff Blower. It is numbered D6375, has a copyright date of 1952 and was discontinued in 1960. Fashioned after a poor orphan boy from a play from 1605. He asked his employer to sell his cat; the cat fetched a huge sum and made him a wealthy man. It features a a stick and polka dot handkerchief handle and he wears a dark green hat and robes.
Marked: With the Doulton factory mark, Made in England, Royal Doulton, England, Dick Whittington, D6375, CORP 1952 and Doulton & Co. Limited.
Measures: 6 1/2 inches tall X 7 inches wide from the spout to the handle.
It is in excellent condition.
