Large Italian Multi Coloured Solid Marble Bust of a Woman – Signed “Souchardon”
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vA large, heavy carved bust in multi coloured/types of marble. Fine detail in the face a hair. The woman wears a branch wreath with hanging grapes in bunches around her head. Her hair drapes down to her shoulders. She wears a hooded coat – the hood attached to the back of her hair and the coat comes down her shoulders and is buttoned just above her breast. The marble is polished in areas – her face and body and her hair are unpolished marble – giving it a different effect from the rest of the bust.
Signed on the reverse “Souchardon”
Measures: 21 inches high x 16 inches wide (at the back shoulders) x 7 inches deep.
