Silver Holloware

This magnificently detailed and matched pair of late 19th-century English silver-plated three-light candelabras showcases the traditional Neo-Classical style. Standing at a refined height of 12.75 inches with a branch width of 11.5 inches and a stable, weighted 4.125-inch square base, these versatile table centerpieces feature an ingenious convertible design. The upper two-arm scroll branch section detaches entirely from the main socket, transforming the grand candelabras into elegant single candlesticks depending on the dining configuration.

Architecturally modeled after classical Corinthian pillars, each piece displays fine vertical fluting along the column stem, rising from an intricate acanthus leaf capital and anchoring to a robust, weighted stepped square base decorated with detailed beaded detailing that provides superb stability for tall candles. Designed for practical luxury, the set comes complete with its matching removable drip pans or bobeches that sit flush within the leaf-capped sconces for easy wax removal. Manufactured in England during the peak of the Victorian era using heavy-gauge electroplated nickel silver over a solid weighted core, the plating remains beautifully intact across all high-relief surfaces and crisp architectural edges.
