London Georgian Sterling Silver Teapot Fluted Design by John Bridge (Rundell, Bridge & Rundell) 1827

Fabulous London Georgian sterling silver tea pot teapot crafted by John Bridge the co-founder of ‘Rundell, Bridge and Rundell’ (alongside Philip Rundell) – the greatest 19th-century goldsmith & retailer of London England, as demonstrated by their Royal Warrant.

The sturdy body from a heavy gauge of silver is supported by a gadrooned foot and an elegant swan-neck handle. The fine detailing of the stippled acorn design joining the handle to the body and the contrast created by sharp angles distinguishes this piece with an aura of stately elegance.

The firm’s success reached beyond borders with branches in Paris, Vienna, St Petersburg, Baghdad, Constantinople, Bombay, Culcutta and several cities in South America. Important commissions overseas, notably the diplomatic gifts (snuff boxes) and the ‘Rundell Tiara’ made for Princess Alexandra are just a few of their extensive exquisite wares made in the Georgian/Victorian era.

The teapot is fully hallmarked with English marks on the base and lid. In excellent condition this teapot would most definitely grace a luxurious dining table whether be it for afternoon tea or simply as part of opulent dinner party.
