Pair of Satsuma Japan Painted, Enamelled and Gilt “Thousand Faces” Square Body Vases

A lovely pair of Satsuma Japan painted, enamelled and gilt porcelain square body vases with the “thousand faces” design showing figures and a dragon.

The underside of each vase shows painted Japanese characters.

Each vase measures 3 3/8 inches square across the top of the body and is 7 inches tall.

There is some gilt loss / age wear on the corners and rim and, on one vase, there is a dab of gilt paint on the top of the rim. Otherwise, they are in good condition.
