A handsome portrait of a gentleman with the title “Portrait of Sir W. Conolly”  – after Hamilton H Douglas 1768.

A gallery label on the reverse from a Stockholm gallery written “Oil painting on canvas on board.  Portrait of Sir William Conolly Attributed to H.D. Hamilton
A brass plaque on the front also shows the same and dates 1768.
It also has an early 20th century Toronto framer’s label on the back.

The portrait has some overpainting to the gentleman’s face but otherwise is in lovely condition.
