Silver Plated “Biscuiteer” – Folding Clam Shell Biscuit Server – circa 1900

A double clam shaped silver plated biscuiteer with ‘branch’ shaped handle and feet.  The buscuiteer opens to reveal 2 pierced platforms for serving hot biscuits.  The platforms lift up and the biscuits can be housed underneath in the clam shaped ‘well’  of the server and then closed up and taken to serve at the dinner/breakfast table.

The outside is hand chased.  No makers marks to be seen but usually these are English made – circa 1890-1910.
