When Birks made the transition from a steele to sharpen their knives, they added this made in England patented “Rotary Rapid Sharpener” to a sterling silver handle, making life easier for their customers. The blade of your knife is placed in the centre and pulled towards you. I have tried and found it in working order. This is indeed a very rare find!
