Royal Doulton Stoneware Jug, c. 1900, Comical Hunting Scene
PotteryHere is a wonderful Royal Doulton stoneware jug, c. 1900. The jug is glazed and in two shades of brown with cream coloured accents on the comical hunting scene. The scene shows a rider tossed off his horse and landing in mud. The scene also shows other horses, dogs, and riders.
It is marked on the underside with the Royal Doulton maker’s mark and reads “Royal Doulton, England”. It is also impressed with “n n 6381” and in black ink “6734 HC (the decorator’s initials).
The jug measures 6 3/4 inches high 6 1/2 inches wide from the spout to the handle.
The jug is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
