English Hallmarked Sterling Silver Footed Teapot, Creamer & Open Sugar Bowl Matched Set
Silver HollowareHere is a lovely sterling silver 3 piece matched tea set. The teapot is Sheffield England hallmarked. It has an ebony handle and ebony on the finial of the teapot lid. On the side of the teapot are the Sheffield marks and date code for 1937 as well as the initials “HW” for the maker, Henry Wigfull.
The teapot is 10 inches wide from the spout to the end of the ebony handle. It stands approximately 6 1/4 inches tall from the top of the handle to the bottom of the foot.
The sugar bowl is London hallmarked and is dated 1906. The maker is Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd. The sugar bowl is 4 1/2 inches in diameter x 2 1/2 inches tall.
The underside of the creamer reads “777 S” and is dated 1901. It is also made by Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd. It is 4 3/4 inches wide from the spout to the end of the handle and is 3 3/4 inches tall from the spout to the bottom of the foot.
The total weight of the 3 pieces is 923 grams (teapot 615 grams, creamer 152 grams, sugar 156 grams).
All pieces are in very good condition.
