Japanese Kutani Porcelain Plate with Serene Landscape and Gilt Scalloped Rim
This is a traditional Japanese Kutani porcelain plate with the maker’s mark on the underside. The plate has enamelled, painted scenes of the Japanese countryside, depicting two houses on opposite sides of a river connected by a bridge with mountains off in the distance. The plate features soft pink bushes to brighten the landscape and decorative gold accents on the entire plate and on the scalloped rim. I believe this plate dates from the Meiji period (1864-1912) circa 1890
Measures: 8 3/4 inches in diameter.
The plate is in very good condition.
Condition: Excellent, no chips, cracks or repairs.
