Rare Royal Paragon 1930s Art Deco Period Painted and Enamelled Bone China Cup and Saucer
China PatternsA wonderful, rare Royal Paragon bone china tea cup & saucer from the Art Deco period (1930s) with a trumpet vine pattern.
The underside of each piece shows the 1930s’ maker’s mark and reads “Royal Paragon. By Appointment. Made in England. Reg’d” and, in orange paint, is the identifier “5791 / 2”.
The cup and saucer are hand painted and enamelled with a trumpet shaped flower design, possibly trumpet vine. The cup and saucer are a very pale creamy yellow with a green handle and orange flowers. There is gold edging and a scalloped rim on both the cup and saucer.
The cup measures 3 inches tall from the edge of the rim to the base and is 3 3/4 inches wide. The saucer is 5 1/2 inches in diameter. There is some gold loss on parts of the scalloped rim and some age crazing but, overall, the set is in very good condition with no cracks, chips or repairs.
