A SIGNED LOUIS COMFORT TIFFANY FAVRILE 11″ ART GLASS BOWL w. FROG, c. 1914-15
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vThis exquisitely beautiful, signed Tiffany bowl features a removable frog, used for arranging flowers.
The bowl and frog are both decorated, inside and out, with irridescent “butterfly wing” blue. The bowl has a raised peacock feather design in the glass, radiating out from the centre.
This wonderful bowl would make an exceptionallly fine addition to a collection of Tiffany art glass, or take pride of place in a home with American Arts and Crafts decor.
Marked: Signed on the bottom of the frog , “Louis C. Tiffany, favrile” for hand-made studio art glass. Bowl marked “Louis C. Tiffany furnaces”. Bowl is further marked with the numbers ” 1687 – 934 N” Frog has a number “8966 M”. (pictured).
Measures: Bowl measures 11″ across x 2″ H at rim. Frog stands 3 1/2″ H x 3″ across.
